Configuring Double-Take Flex services

After activating the product, you need to verify that the Double-Take Flex services are running.

Note:

If using the Double-Take Flex Storage Server, a Double-Take Flex Storage Service will be installed. Refer to Defining global options, Creating a Flex Target, and Specifying Flex Target properties for information about configuring the Double-Take Flex Storage Server.

Double-Take Flex installs the following services on the Double-Take Flex Management Server to enable iSCSI boot from SAN:

The following screen shows the services in the Double-Take Flex Management Console.

To use Double-Take Flex, all two or three services must be running, depending on if you are using PXE to boot from the network or a local boot agent.

The PXE service replies to a PXE request for a boot file name. This service is not required if you are exclusively using a local boot agent.
The TFTP service sends the boot files.
The Flex Management service provides the iSCSI boot parameters.

When you install the Double-Take Flex Management Server, the services are installed and running.
