Protect a virtual machine on an ESX server

Double-Take Availability for VMware Infrastructure is used to protect entire virtual machines on the VMware ESX Server platform by actively replicating virtual machine files between datastores.

  1. Before you set up protection for your source, verify that the required ports are enabled.
  2. Configure your VMware ESX servers to allow either root or non-root login.

    3. Note:

    You must properly configure your ESX servers before you can use Double-Take Availability for VMware Infrastructure
  3. Launch the Double-Take Availability for VMware Infrastructure console.
  4. Connect to the Double-Take Availability for VMware Infrastructure server.
  5. Set up protection for the virtual machine.
