Defining target configurations is a critical step in setting up Double-Take Flex because the core functionality is built around target associations. A target configuration represents a target LUN defined on a physical iSCSI SAN or a software-based target defined on the Double-Take Flex Storage Server (or other third-party software).
Target configurations provide the connection parameters to the target. You can define target configurations in the Double-Take Flex Management Console, the Double-Take Flex Storage Console, or, for large-scale deployments, you can use the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) interface to add target configurations by script. A target configuration must be added for each iSCSI target that will be associated with a Double-Take Flex Client.
