Shared-nonpersistent mode

Shared-nonpersistent mode allows usage of a shared, read-only iSCSI target with multiple initiator access. Individual initiator writes are tracked and cached by the target. This supports the use of a single master iSCSI LUN with individual non-persistent write caches per Double-Take Flex Client device or AD user. The Double-Take Flex Client device and AD user caches are discarded when the client restarts.

Shared-nonpersistent mode requires a previously created target using exclusive mode. Prior to specifying shared-nonpersistent mode, the target must:

Note:

This mode is intended for use by a Double-Take Flex Client and requires a special bootstrap (iSCSINBP.1). Behavior for this mode will revert to the same as that for shared-persistent mode for any other type of access.

The following figure shows the shared-nonpersistent mode setup.
