Managing ESX servers

If you want to add a new ESX server, click the Add ESX Server button. The Add ESX server window will appear in the right pane.

1. In the VirtualCenter server field, select a VirtualCenter server that manages the ESX server you want to add.
2. In the IP address or DNS name field, enter the IP address or DNS name of the ESX server. Or, click the Browse button to browse VirtualCenter to locate a server. The Select ESX server window will appear.

3. Enter the IP address or DNS name for the new ESX server.
4. In the User name field, enter the user name for the account you will be using to log on to the ESX server.
5. In the Password field, enter the password that is associated with the user account.
6. Click Save to save the server credentials.

If you want to change the credentials for an ESX server, add a new credential, or delete an existing credential that is not being used in any protection, select the server, then click the Configure ESX server button. The Configure ESX server window will appear in the right pane.

Select an account in the Credentials area, then click Add to add a username and password, or Edit to change existing credentials. The Set ESX server credentials dialog box will appear.

Enter a Username and Password in the fields, then click OK. Double-Take Availability for VMware Infrastructure will attempt to authenticate the supplied credentials.

When you are finished, click Done.
