Configure a remote desktop connection

Click here for more information about configuring the remote desktop connection.

  1. Ensure that TCP port 3389 (RDP) is open on the Double-Take Cloud repository instance and corporate firewall, and that the firewalls are configured to allow communication.
  2. From your machine, configure a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) using the elastic IP address and decrypted administrator password so that you can login and manage the Double-Take Cloud repository.
Note: For more information about configuring RDC, refer to your Windows documentation.
  1. Enable the "Redirect local drives when logged on to the remote computer" option in the RDC Properties. This is necessary to allow for encrypted file transfer over a secure channel.
  2. Login to the Double-Take Cloud repository and change the Windows administrator password.

Next step: After your remote desktop connection is made, activate the Double-Take Cloud repository.
