Installing Double-Take Backup on the source

1. Copy the installation package for Double-Take Backup from one of the following backup repository server paths to your source.
• The 32-bit install is located in the C:\Installation sources\Double-Take\i386\ directory.
• The 64-bit install is located in the C:\Installation sources\Double-Take\x64\ directory.
2. Launch the .exe file that you copied.
3. When the installation program begins, the Double-Take Software Setup Launcher appears allowing you to install software and view documentation for various applications from Double-Take Software. The listed applications will depend on which products are included in your executable file. To install Double-Take Backup, select Double-Take Backup from the list of products. Under Product Installs, select Double-Take Backup.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions. Detailed installation instructions are available in the Double-Take Backup User's Guide.

    

   Note:  Do not change the default Double-Take Backup installation location.

    

5. If prompted, reboot the server.
6. If necessary, install Double-Take Backup on any additional source servers.

Next step After you have installed Double-Take Backup on your source, you will proceed with configuring Double-Take Backup full-server protection.
