Selecting a target server

If you have not done so already, launch the Protect a Hyper-V virtual machine using host-level protection workflow.

Select the target Hyper-V server where the replica virtual machine will be stored.

Enter the following information for the target server:

  1. Server—Enter the IP address or DNS name of the Hyper-V server that will be the target host. Or, click the Browse button to browse to locate a server.
  1. In the Browse for server window, browse through the file tree to select a target server.
  1. After you have found the target server, select it, then click OK.
  1. User name—Enter the user name for the account that will access the target host.

Note:

The user account entered here must have administrative rights for Microsoft Hyper-V on that server, and be a member of the Double-Take Administrators group.

  1. Password—Enter the password that is associated with the user account.
  2. After all fields have been completed, click Next. A window will display the progress.
