Viewing server details

Highlight a server on the Manage Servers page and click View Server Details from the toolbar. The View Server Details page allows you to view details about that particular server. The top set of details are the same for each type of Double-Take server. The lower sets of details vary depending on the type of server or appliance you are viewing.

 

Server name

The name or IP address of the server. If you have specified a reserved IP address, it will be displayed in parenthesis.

Roles

The role of this server in your Double-Take environment. In some cases, a server can have more than one role.

Status

There are many different Status messages that keep you informed of the server activity. Most of the status messages are informational and do not require any administrator interaction. If you see error messages, check the rest of the server details.

Activity

There are many different Activity messages that keep you informed of the server activity. Most of the activity messages are informational and do not require any administrator interaction. If you see error messages, check the rest of the server details.

Connected via

The IP address and port the server is using for communcations. You will also see the Double-Take protocol being used to communicate with server. The protocol will be XML web services protocol (for servers running Double-Take version 5.2 or later) or Legacy protocol (for servers running version 5.1 or earlier).

Version

The product version information

Access

The security level granted to the specified user

User name

The user account used to access the server

Licensing quantity

The available and total license count for a Double-Take controller appliance

Source jobs

If you are viewing a Double-Take source server, target server, or vSphere replication appliance, you will see a list of any jobs from this server. Double-clicking on a job in this list will automatically open the View Job Details page.

Target jobs

If you are viewing a Double-Take source server, target server, or vSphere replication appliance you will see a list of any jobs to this server. Double-clicking on a job in this list will automatically open the View Job Details page.

Associated vCenter/ESXi servers and replication appliances

If you are viewing a vSphere controller appliance, you will see a list of the vCenter or ESXi servers and the replication appliances that are associated with the controller appliance. To modify the associated appliances, click on the Edit server properties link. See Controller appliance associations properties.

Database server

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the name of the server that contains your SQL database that storing your collected Double-Take data.

Database name

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the name of the SQL database that is storing your collected Double-Take data.

Database instance

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the optional database instance name.

Database status

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the status of the database configuration.

Collection interval

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the amount of time Double-Take Reporting Service waits between data collections.

Retention interval

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the length of time to retain collected data. Data older than the specified number of days will be deleted from the database.

Server

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the server Double-Take Reporting Service is collecting Double-Take data from.

Route

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the route the reporting service is using to communicate with the server data is being collected from.

Port

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the port the reporting service is using to communicate with the server data is being collected from.

User

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the reporting service is using to authenticate with the server data is being collected from.

Status

If you are viewing a Double-Take Reporting Service server, you will see the status of the collection of data from the server.
