Troubleshooting

  1. In the event that a newly-created Double-Take Backup protection job disappears from the console, you must stop, then restart the OpenVPN and Double-Take services in this order. The new protection job can then be created without incident.
  2. The Double-Take Backup console monitor may report the status of a job as "Communication Failure"; however, data is still being replicated. In this case, stop, then restart the OpenVPN and Double-Take services in this order. Then, open the console and check security credentials. The status should return to "Protected".
  3. If you encounter issues when creating or changing an EC2 instance configuration or connecting to an AWS/EC2 instance, check the AWS Service Health Dashboard to see if your issue might be related to a known issue with an AWS service.
