Preparing a target server for Metered Usage

Carbonite Metered Usage is a licensing program that enables service providers the ability to offer Carbonite Availability and Carbonite Migrate products on a subscription basis. Metered Usage automates the process for activating and renewing metered Carbonite Availability and Carbonite Migrate licenses and tracks pay-as-you-go usage. Carbonite hosts and manages all of the Metered Usage components except the Carbonite Availability and Carbonite Migrate source and target. The service provider configures and maintains the target. Depending on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) between the service provider and their end user, the server provider or the end user may configure and maintain the source.

In order to use this program, the service provider must have a specific metered usage license on each Carbonite Availability and Carbonite Migrate target. Use the following instructions to prepare a target server for Metered Usage. The instructions are dependent on your target server operating system.
