Deactivation and host-transfers

There are two ways to reuse a Carbonite Availability liicense. Carbonite Move licenses cannot be reused.

• Deactivating a license —This process allows you to automatically deactivate a license from a server, making it available to be used on another server. In order to complete this process, you must be able to uninstall Carbonite Availability from the server you want to deactivate using the Carbonite Replication Console or the Windows uninstall applet. You can complete an unlimited number of deactivations.
• Completing a host-transfer —This process allows you to manually deactivate a license through the Carbonite host-transfer web page. You will have to use this process if you cannot uninstall Carbonite Availability using the Carbonite Replication Console or the Windows uninstall applet. You can complete two host transfers without intervention. Additional, host transfer will require assistance from Carbonite.
